That’s right kids, it’s time for my second installment about my bamboozle weekend.
So, I slept pretty well Saturday night. At some point I was woken up by Derek waking up Katy to tell her about about a garbage truck and at another point when Derek was talking about seagulls attacking the car.
So, we woke up like super freaking early. It was raining, and I felt disgusting. We ate a nutricious breakfast of cookies, pretzels and chips, and then stood in line for like an hour. Despite the rainy start to the day, the sun came out, and got incredibly fucking hot, and I got burnt, badly. My face is now peeling, and I feel like a lizard. Anywho, onto the bands:
We watched Settings, which was good. Mercy Mercedes was also awesome again. Sing It Loud was fun, Pat’s guitar had a sweet mustache.
International Superheroes of Hardcore was hilarious. Jordan was wearing a snuggie as a cape.
Artist Vs. Poet was alright, I haven’t listened to much, and I don’t imagine getting into their music much in the future. I really enjoyed seeing The Bigger Lights again.
Cobra Starship was fun as usual, can’t wait to see them on Friday. Ben from Sing It Loud did the rap part in “Kiss My Sass” and he and Gabe did the Soulja Boy dance.
The Get Up Kids were amazing. I was so thrilled to get to see them. The lack of a crowd was kind of disappointing though, but I can’t complain, I was able to be really close then.
Lydia was so good. I had never seen them before, and it was almost hypnotizing to watch. I would love to see them again.
Finally, I finished my evening watching Forgive Durden. Basically, it was FD and The Get Up Kids that were the two bands I absolutely had to see, and they totally made my entire weekend. Despite some minor problems with the sound, the performance was excellent. They also had a bunch of guest vocalists to play the various roles in Razia’s Shadow.
They were as follows:
Casey Crescenzo(The Dear Hunter) - O the Scientist
Sierra Kusterbeck (Versa Emerge)-Nidria
Fred (The Color Fred)-Barayas the Spider
Dan Young (This Providence)-Sangara
Dave Melilo (Cute Is What We Aim For)-Pallis
Greta Salpeter-Princess Anhura
Bob Morris-The Bawaba Brothers
It was just a crazy, pretty much one time performance and I was so glad to have been able to see it. I can’t wait to see Forgive Durden again the 13th.
And that was my Saturday. Stay tuned for update 3!
